James Boatman, LMSW

James Boatman is a dedicated therapist with a Master’s in Social Work and a passion for helping adolescents, young children, and families overcome personal challenges. He will make sure any client he meets will begin therapy in a welcoming, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment. The majority of his experience has been working with adolescents and young children. However, he works with anyone at any age.

 

Having experience in trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, James takes a person-centered approach to therapy that focuses on each individual's unique strengths and experiences. James is particularly committed to helping clients navigate symptoms of depression and anxiety. He works collaboratively with individuals to gain insight into their struggles, guiding them toward a healing path by fostering self-compassion, patience, and a deeper understanding of their self-worth and purpose.

 

Known for his empathetic and patient approach, James uses the therapeutic alliance as a cornerstone of the healing process, believing that a strong, trusting relationship between therapist and client is essential for growth and transformation. He empowers his clients to build resilience and make lasting positive changes, helping them recognize their inner strength and potential to thrive.
