Myriam Hernandez, LMSW

Myriam is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She discovered a passion for social work in 2012 when she volunteered at our local family shelter and became aware of the needs in Yuma county.  Myriam earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Northern Arizona University in 2016 and immediately went on to earn her Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2018.

Since then, Myriam has worked in mental health, helping people learn how to cope and heal from trauma.  In her experience, she's learned there is no “one size fits all” intervention in recovery.  She uses a person-centered approach to help each person discover their own strengths and begin to trust their ability to help themselves.

Myriam currently treats adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, anger, and low self-esteem.  Myriam is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other modalities.

Myriam también habla Español y tiene una gran pasión por ayudar a la comunidad de habla Hispana.  A Myriam también le gusta ayudar a familias a aprender más sobre salud mental para reducir el estigma de salud mental.
